The Not So Lazy Susan

Today I realized that I have truly grown to love Lazy Susans.
Before becoming an organizer, I think I only saw them at restaurants when I was eating with a big group.  They were certainly helpful in getting the yummy dishes around the table, but beyond that, I never gave them a second thought.

But now, they are one of my favorite products and a go-to solution for pantries and kitchens when corners and deep shelves make it tough to access items.

Here are some of the varieties...
Clear Turntable
Bamboo Double Turntable

Pie-Cut with Two Shelves

And if you want to learn more about the history of Lazy Susans (who is "Susan" anyway?), check it out here.

Meet my new assistant

Diego

Boy, this has been a busy week!
I've been doing LOTS of organizing and helping some wonderful clients get their homes de-cluttered.

So, my sweet Diego decided that he would offer to help me out... here he is "helping" me with some bathroom organizing.  I'll let you know if I officially put him on the payroll.

Confession

HELP!  I have E-Clutter!

Yup, Electronic Clutter....
and despite my efforts to clear out my inbox, the emails keep piling up.
Lately, I have been just ignoring the problem by closing my laptop and pretending it doesn't exist.  But this can't go on much longer.  It weighs on me, just like a cramped closet or an overflowing junk drawer.  It makes me stressed out and uneasy.

So, it's time to be brutal and clear it out!  Here is my action plan:
1. Unsubscribe to email alerts from stores and websites
(except for Anthropologie and See Jane Work!)
2. Carve out 20 minutes every day for the next week to read old emails
3. Make lists: To Call, To Email, To Do (personal and business)
4. Reward myself when I'm done!

Anyone else have a problem with E-Clutter?  What do you do to keep it under control?

Bon Voyage!

Organize.com

Why did I just spend 30 minutes looking at Organize.com??!!

It may be the great discounts or the helpful travel tips.... or maybe it's the photo of the Eiffel Tower that just makes me so excited for our trip to Paris in less than two months!

I think ALL OF THE ABOVE.

What do you think about this cute bag for our trip?  I could be organized and stylish!

Organizing By Color

One of my lovely new readers just introduced me to Poppin.com
and holy smokes, it's a fun website to explore!

Funky Laptop Bags

One of the neat things about this site is that you can search for items by color.
Magenta anyone?

Or, you can look at "bundles" of coordinating products that are sold at a discounted price.

For your mod home office

I just love learning about new products and new websites... thanks, Liv!

Confession

BUSTED: At my family reunion, being completely OCD!

I had a wonderful time visiting with my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins this weekend.  It was so fun to just hang out and catch up.

But, I was very quickly put in my place!  Who knew that my labeled file folders for the weekend's activities and my obsession with the new pull-out drawers in my aunt's kitchen would be so hilarious to my relatives?!  My dear aunt said to me, "Well, at least someone in this family is anal-retentive!"

It's a good thing that my family loves me unconditionally!

Put a label on it

Garment Bags with adorable tags showing the clothing inside

Luggage Tags for laundry bags

Bins in my hall closet with tiny hanging tags

Who knew that labeling could be more than just a boring piece of tape?!  Do you have any fun ways that you label your things?
